CARLSBAD, Calif. – Neal Electric was proud to participate in the Future Leaders Connect (FLC) Teen Girls Camp Electrical Day, a hands-on program designed to introduce young women to the wide range of opportunities available within the construction industry.
Representing Neal Electric, Madison Olivas and Bailey Smith volunteered alongside industry professionals to help campers explore the electrical trade through interactive learning experiences and career discussions. Throughout the day, participants were introduced to basic electrical concepts, industry tools, and the many career paths available both in the field and in construction management, estimating, and project administration.
The week-long camp is dedicated to breaking stereotypes and empowering young women to pursue careers in the skilled trades. Through hands-on projects and exposure to real-world construction activities, campers develop practical skills, self-confidence, and a greater understanding of the opportunities available within the industry. Experienced mentors and role models provide guidance throughout the program, helping participants safely tackle new challenges while fostering a strong “can-do” attitude.
For Madison and Bailey, the event was an opportunity to share their experiences in the electrical construction industry and demonstrate that there are many rewarding pathways available for women in construction. By connecting with the campers and answering questions about their careers, they helped provide valuable insight into an industry that offers long-term growth, stability, and meaningful work.
At Neal Electric, we believe investing in the next generation is essential to the future of our industry. We are honored to support programs like the FLC Teen Girls Camp that encourage young women to explore careers in construction, build confidence in their abilities, and discover new possibilities for their future.
Thank you to Madison Olivas and Bailey Smith for representing Neal Electric and helping inspire the next generation of women in the skilled trades.
